Why Do I Love Studio Ghibli

Lately, I'm so addicted to Japanese entertainment, especially their soap opera, idol band, and their animation movies. Talking about animation movies from Japan, there's one animation and film studio from Japan that has been famous for quiet time called Studio Ghibli. Studio Ghibli was founded by Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata on June 1985. Although they're still need much effort to become more recognizable like Disney, I think Studio Ghibli has much more achievement so we could call that Hayao Miyazaki as the man behind it is a genius.

Space Brother (2012)

Space Brothers another great Japanese movie that released this year, but because my country’s cinema doesn’t play much Japanese movie, so if I want to watch it either I have to wait for quiet long time to watch it on Youtube or wait till the DVD release and buy it through an online shop. Thank God for this movie I watched it on the airplane on my way back from Sydney and as I expected this movie was really great.

This movie, is another manga adaptation, tells about Nanba Mutta (the older brother, played by Oguri Shun) and Nanba Hibito (the younger brother, played by Okada Masaki) on the way achieving their dreams become an astronaut. When they were younger accidentally they saw a UFO and made a pact that someday both of them will go to space together. As they grew up, Nanba Mutta seemed to forget about the pact and worked at automotive company but the other hand his younger brother still living on their dreams and one step closer to achieve it. The younger brother had been recruited by NASA for the next project to the moon. After Nanba Mutta got fired from his jobs, his younger brother made a way for him to a selection for the next Japanese astronaut by JAXA. So the movie tells about how Nanba Mutta become an astronaut and how the journey of Nanba Hibito on the moon.

Space Brothers has a really good visualization, especially the moon and anti-gravity scene. It looks really real and nice also neat. Another good visualization that Space Brothers has is the training camp for an astronaut that I think is really good as the real thing, just like when I saw Armageddon or Apollo 13. I just love the way they made all the details.

Another thing that I loved from this movie is Oguri Shun, the actor who played Nanba Mutta. I’ve seen him on many Japanese dorama and this character made him different than the other role that he’s been taken. I think it’s approved that he’s one of greatest actor for his generations and for Japan.

I’m not going to say another thing because this movie made me speechless all along the movie. My suggestion for you, if you love space and astronaut thing, I think you must to watch this movie. It’s going to tell you how an astronaut prepares before they’re going to space with really nice good visualization. So, have a nice watching. :D

P.S. They also have Every Teardrop is a Waterfall from Coldplay as a theme song and Hoppipolla from Sigur Ros as insert song.
